RIPPER is a specialty product formulated to remove streaks from gutters. It contains a blend of 2 different solvents – each designed to attack and emulsify a different type of pollutant. RIPPER will respond to your most difficult gutter cleaning project with ease and provide you with an environment which is much safer to humans and less damaging to the surface than most products in the industry.

Mixing Instructions: Read and understand these instructions before starting to mix this product. Use warm water (never hot - not to exceed 120 degrees F). Warm water helps powders go into solution more easily. Hot water, on the other hand, will blow apart many of the surfactants utilized in the formulary process. It is possible to use cold water but additional manual agitation may be required. Use a clean poly drum; fill it approximately 50% full with warm water. Place the nozzle of a high-pressure washer close to the bottom of the drum and continue filling while adding the powder slowly. At 75% full add the liquid additives and then continue filling. When the drum is 90% full all the powder should have been added. Continue filling until the drum is full. The result is 55 gallons of liquid concentrate that is now ready for use.

Dilutions: The amount you dilute Ripper depends on many factors and cannot be covered by one statement. The following guidelines are a starting point from which you should adjust. Chemical dilution rates need to be adjusted because of weather conditions, cleaning difficulty, washing method used, including PSI and whether or not you brush, and desired result. Remember that a typical downstream injector is already diluting the product approximately 1 part detergent to 9 parts water (10%) for most injectors or 2 parts product to 8 parts water (20%) with an Allison super suds sucker injector.

Washing technique: First off we must recognize that there are many reasons streaks form on gutters as well as a variety of pollutants that create the streak. We will offer a couple techniques that will help in removing the problem quickly and safely.

1. Most streaks can be removed with the use of Ripper being applied through a high induction chemical injector such as the Allison Super Suds Sucker (P/N 1964).

2. If the streak is stubborn the same injector can be used by collecting the soap in the high pressure hose and applying it from close range at high pressure. Each time the trigger is pulled under low pressure (when you have the soap nozzle in place) the hose is filled with Ripper. When you go to high pressure it takes a few seconds to completely ‘dump’ the collected soap from the hose. This ‘dumping’ process is being done under high pressure. So, go to low pressure and wait until the soap starts coming out of the nozzle. Release the trigger and replace the low pressure nozzle with the high pressure nozzle. Put the nozzle close to the gutter and pull the trigger. Walking fast you should be able to high pressure soak about 30-40 feet of gutter before the hose is clear. Rinse back and repeat the process until the entire gutter has been cleaned.

3. When the streaking is real bad the bucket and brush method is the last resort. Take a clean 5 gallon bucket and fill 50/50 with a Ripper/Water mix. Take a ‘gutter brush’ or a small 10’ brush that will hold a lot of product and simply ‘run’ the gutter with the loaded brush. High-pressure wash the surface removing the detergent and released dirt. It is important to remember that most gutters are cleaned after the house has been washed and over spray or ‘dripping’ can occur and go undetected. It is important to always rinse well and when you think you are done - rinse again. This should be common practice with all cleaning solutions. Pay special attention to horizontal surfaces that may trap detergent so it can run down onto surfaces after you have washed. Try not to put detergent in these areas, if you do be sure to get it rinsed off to leave a streak free surface.

Make it a practice to always read and insist your employees read and understand the MSDS that accompanies this product.

CAUTION - Avoid Alkaline Shock: Any detergent product that is applied to a hot surface stands a chance of producing alkaline shock. The surface is hot - a strong solution of detergent is applied - the water evaporates from the product before you have a chance to rinse - all resulting in a dull, streaked or tarnished surface which is often irreversible. Cool the surface down with water first then apply the product. On real hot days turn off the burner and wash with cold water.
